I grew up on a remote farm, in a family where girls were expected to do the dishes and stay quiet. I didn’t know any writers, hadn’t met any, and thought they were magical people who lived in another world. But even as a kid, I had big dreams. I wanted to write stories that mattered —stories that would move people. The problem? I had no idea where to start. No skills, no support, and no expectation that I could succeed. I was on my own.
I failed over and over. I could write good sentences, but I didn’t know how to build them into a story that worked. My Master’s supervisor even told me, ‘I don’t know why they let you into the program!’
I felt lost, overwhelmed, and full of self-doubt. But I refused to give up. I knew there had to be a better way.”
I got laser-focused. I read every book on writing I could find, took courses from the greats like Hollywood script doctor Robert McKee and Martha Alderson, the Plot Whisperer, and worked with incredible mentors.
I developed a process—a step-by-step blueprint that took the guesswork out of writing. And it worked. Not only did I complete my Master’s, but I also published my first novel:
Lilia’s Secret, which went on to open doors I’d only dreamed of.
But my proudest achievement? Helping other writers succeed. Through Page Turners, I’ve combined decades of research, trial and error, and professional experience into a proven system that empowers writers to craft novels that captivate readers
Why I Do This
Writing is a tough old job—it’s joyful, inspired, and deeply fulfilling, but it can also be overwhelming and isolating. I know what it’s like to stare at a blank page, full of doubt and fear.
That’s why I created Page Turners. I wanted to share the tools and strategies that took me decades to figure out, so other writers don’t have to struggle. Because I believe every writer has a story worth telling—and the world needs your story.

Erina Reddan is an author and public speaker. Erina has a Masters Degree in Professional Writing (University of Technology Sydney) and is currently undertaking a PhD in Creative Writing (La Trobe University). She has been awarded the prestigious Walkley Award for her work as an ABC foreign correspondent. Erina has lectured in international politics at The University of Melbourne, tutored in creative writing at La Trobe University and taught at Writers Victoria.
